Hello all-

Ok… 7 hours of information… whew…

Had to relisten to this one a couple of times due to Randall’s broken English, dead space, microphone noise/echo; which in the end got me lost to what was going on; so eventually just continued on to the next session.

Do not get me wrong thinking it was bad; the funny quips were there and well worth it: “Anyone forget their dice? Maybe we should just knock? Fire Baaaaaaad!”…

…along with learning a new rule: Armor hit points?

Seth H., playing Marcus, has leather armor on his character which deflects the damage. In the game play he says, “…4 points of damage… Deflect 3 from my leather that’s under my toga. That takes me down to 22 hits points on my leather, so I lose 1 standard hit point…”

Does this mean that his leather armor is destroyed after 22 more hit points of damage?

I looked up armor in several books and they basically say to subtract the AP from the damage for the total damage to the character.

Is this special armor that Seth H. has from a different Call of Cthulhu book?

Looking forward to seeing what this Mask of the Funeral Clown is all about.

Cheers

The invictus book says that the armor/weapons deflects the damage to the character, but takes the damage instead. It has a total of hitpoints and if by any given chance it takes more damage than its total hitpoints, it breaks. At some point later I was deducting the damage with every blow, which was incorrect. I'd be happy to pick up the book this week and search for the specific rule so I can give you the page number.

Hello Randall-

I am not that in depth as you all are in playing CoC, so no need for you to pick up the book on my account; but thank you for the offer.

I find that a great mechanic by armor having hit points since someone could buy platemail at 1st level and after a hundred battles and 20 levels, have it still intact; this does not seem logical as it would get beat up a lot.
